An Italian wine expert, formerly the retail manager of Eataly wine store in New York, Emily brings an expert palate and extensive knowledge of Italy’s small wine producers, local varietals, and up-and-coming growing regions. After earning a B.A. from UC Santa Cruz, Emily received her master’s in Food Culture and Communications from the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Italy’s Piedmont region—where she developed an unbridled affinity for truffles. Along with tartufi, the wine of the region too was a love at first sight—and Nebbiolo has her heart to this day. She fast fell in love with Italian wine and food, and went on to work at world-renowned producer, Arnaldo Caprai, in Umbria upon completion of her masters, before moving to New York.
As a San Francisco native, Emily misses the California sunshine, but loves the hustle and bustle of New York City, where she now calls home. Living in the wine capital of the world, Emily enjoys experiencing wines from all regions of the globe, but finds herself coming back to Italian varietals, time and again. After gaining vast experience in business development, marketing, and management—ranging from wine, events and technology start-ups—Emily was sommelier certified in March of 2016.
