Kate Grehl hails from Upstate New York, where many of her lifelong passions-golf, sailing, skiing, and horseback riding-have their roots. She attended Drew University and achieved an MA in Art Management from Boston University. Her love of the arts was put to practical use as an apprentice for the Washington Ballet. Kate began her wine-industry work in Publishing at Wine & Spirits Magazine, but ultimately traded office wear for winery boots and embarking on a series of harvests-from the Finger Lakes to Argentina, Sonoma, and Austria. While Kate loves Burgundy and GrÃ¼ner Veltiner, her first wine project was a biodynamic, carbonically macerated Argentinian Syrah. She joins Soutirage fresh from the vineyards, having passed her WSET with distinction and with plans to tackle the Diploma.
